Good Morning Everyone,

Does anybody have any experience with symmetry in drawings? We have a number of new engineers that picked up the habit of adding centerlines to every view of a part whether or not it is cylindrical. Some will also place a "CL" symbol with "SYM" below it along the centerline. In my opinion this is poor practice...one, it is not the right line type for this and two, it is being used wrong. I am trying to right up a paper on the correct symmetry usage in drawings for our company does anybody have any ideas. I have been in the field for 13 years and I have worked in many difference industries yet I have never felt compelled to use a symmetry line in a drawing. Also, I know that SolidWorks supports line types per ASME Y14.2 but I cannot figure out how to correct add a symmetry line in SolidWorks, other then in sketches.

thnx in advance
