I have a problem with the mold. It says that a cannot knit sheets together. Can someone please help me. I need to have this done by TOMMOROW
It's very difficult to identify the problem without seeing the model
Can you post the file here, someone can review and suggest a solution.
here it is, thank you
This means you have either a gap or overlap of two or more pcs, check all seams and intersections very closely.
Hard to say without the model, as John already pointed out.
Can you tell us what error messages SolidWorks is giving you?
I managed to get a mold out of it, but i'm using a newer version of SolidWorks so uploading it isn't gonna do you much good.
First problem I saw was that your split line wasn't correct, it was only running around ~half the part and on the wrong set of edges. So i'd remake that.
You might need to make a slightly more complicated mold since you have some negative taper mixed in with the positive taper inside of the part, either change it or play around with the Core tool.
Lemme know if you need anything else clarified.
I can get the newer version it's not a problem can you please send it to me?
Here ya go, it's on an educational edition though if that matters.
is it 2015 or 2016 version?
You'll need to tweak the mold a bit to get it to actually work in the real world though.
thank you a lot
here it is guys, i would be grateful if someone can fix it for me
All these 3 files are the same or different?
I am using SW2015 and seems like yours is lower version
Your parting line selection should be manual. The auto selection is picking wrong edges and creating only one parting surface
Select the edges manually,
Use shut-off surfaces and and select all internal edges to fill
Then create parting surface
Select the sketch and do a split
This is fairly simple part and should work without any issues
Need action for the outer snap pockets (either slide or lifter)
Hope this works
Which version of SW you use?
I use 2014..i tried what you said but i cannot make it
I was looking thru the model and noticed couple of issues with the model
Most of the cross ribs thickness are too thin to fill, if you are molding this part
The outer rib and the posts are not connected all around (see the picture).
This might be the reason to fail the automatic parting line creation initially.
But this should not affect your split
This might have been the cause to create the false parting line at first.
This small overlap is picked up as the automatic parting line and this is an undercut.
