I am using SW2014 SP5.
While trying to use the SolidWorks / Rename function in Windows explorer, the paths that are searched for related files start on a network drive (library) - NOT the same folder as the file being renamed. It eventually gets to the local folder but the time....!
What controls the search paths SW Rename uses?
In Options / File Locations / Referenced Documents my first listing is my local working area followed by my network libraries.
In Options / File Locations / Search Paths my second listing is again my local working area followed by my network libraries. My first listing appears outside of my control and points to a local area for MS Visio.
Does anyone know how to get the rename function to start search locally FIRST and then expand outward later?
Thanks,
Daen
Daen,
You'll find control of that in SolidWorks Explorer rather than SolidWorks native.
Open SolidWorks Explorer in it's own window (Tools menu), Find the Options button & peruse the tabs to adjust your settings.
