In-context editing in an assembly is crashing solidworks 2015

This wasn't a problem in 2013, our company skipped 2014, so I don't know if it had the same problem.  This isn't my computer, I just got a brand new one and it still does it.


The problem is: "in-context editing" crashes solidworks consistently. THAT is a problem.  Solidworks was designed specifically for in-context editing and the inability to do so is making the program pretty much worthless.
