I try file>saveas>.sldprt and select "all components" and "preserve geometry references" and click save. the computer lags a little suggesting activity but no files are created. Why?? What am I doing wrong. Is it because my assembly is almost 3MB? WTH?
Shane,,, I tried this on a 19mb assy and gave up after an hour. Then I tried it on a 4.9mb assy and it worked fine (all components). Took about 50 seconds. Then tried Exterior faces and that took about 20 seconds. Is there a reason you can't do "Exterior faces"?
that didn't work either. it lagged a little longer but ultimately did not produce a file.
I tried again while nothing else was running. It worked! I think my problem stems from my computer hardware, I need to upgrade some things.
