Solidworks is detecting XP on my Machine, but I am running Windows 7. how do I bypass this?
Check if this helps: Fixing SOLIDWORKS Installation Issue on Windows 7 SP 1
If the information that Deepak gave you doesn't solve the problem you might want to try what I have pasted below. This information is what my Var sent me when I was trying to install 2014 on my machine a couple of years back when I was getting the same message as you. It worked... Had the same issue when installing 2015 so I fallowed the same steps and that solved the problem. When I installed 2016 I had no issues whatsoever.
1. Uninstall Visuatl Studio Tools for Applications from Add\Remove programs
2. Reboot the machine
3. Rename following registry keys (Windows+R hotkey, type REGEDIT):
On machines with 32-bit Operation System
On machines with 64-bit Operation System
4. Reboot the computer
5. Install SolidWorks via the Installation Manager again.
FYI.. After uninstalling "Microsoft Visual Studio Tools for Applications" The SW Installer will add it back with the proper version.
