Questions like this have been asked before, but I wanted to get an updated opinion on whether the Space Pilot Pro and similar 3D mice are worthwhile investments.
One of the best investments I have made along with a M570 Logitech wireless mouse.
I love mine and can't stand when I have to do anything on someone's computer without it. It's great having your right hand available for controlling all the things your mouse needs to do without also having to orient the model with it, the extra buttons are a plus too.
If cost is not a constrain then this would be one of the right investment made to make your work easier everyday.
I agree with everyone else - a great investment! I will make a suggestion - if you have never used one very much, give it almost a week before you give up with it. It will likely be bothersome until something "clicks" in your brain. After that you will have problems not using it.
I have been using them for around 8 years and I have a hard time when I do not have it. It becomes second nature to manipulate the model after using it. I agree with Jeff Holliday , give it a few weeks and don't give up on it. I started with the Space Pilot and know have updated to the Space Pilot Pro. No Complaints at all.
