When I change or add to route (piping) bends are formed in stead of elbows

When I start a new route in piping everything works fine elbows are added correctly (45° and 90°) and radius is formed automatically.

Later on when I add to the excisting route the radius is formed still automatically however the elbows are not showing up.

The only way to have them show up again I need to delete the complete routing line and start at a connection point with "start route" and evertyting works fine again.

Radius and pipe size do match up with the design table I cannot find anything wrong, and I guess it is ok as it is working when I start.

Please help

I use Solidworks premium 2015 x64 SP 4.0

Correct Answer

If that doesn't work then see if you can make a test route. Just something that has one elbow and the one bend instead of an elbow and upload the pack and go file of it so that we can take a look at what's actually happening.

Marco,

Are you sure you have selected to always use elbows when starting a new route ?

Are you sure that the lines are perfectly perpendicular to each other?

Don't forget that even if it just makes a bend you can still alter it manually by RMB on the route

which should offer you then something like this

Thank you for your answer.

I have selected always use elbows with the new document.

And I cannot add it manually, I can select it but it wont change the bend into a elbow.

The only way I have found to make the system use the elbows again is to remove the whole routing line and draw it again. (so basically start a fresh new route)

When you get this

move you mouse onto the window and click on the appropriate one, in your case the elbow one

Hello Peter,

Thank you again for the answer. I have found the problem.

When using the pack and go I saw there was a copy of the part file of the elbows in another location, where the assembly was referring to. I don't know how or why it was copied. I have removed the copy of the part and now it is working fine.
