          You would have to check out all the files first but yes it would work provided that.

           

          Even if you are not making changes autocad will prompt you with a "do you want to open a ready-only file" if you don't check out the files.  And as far as I know this is not something you can suppress.  So unless you want to sit there and click yes for every drawing, you need to check them out.

           

          You could also write something up using the EPDM API to automate the get/checkout and checkin or undo check out by passing in a file path or something and just call it before and after opening each drawing.
