I have forgotten how to set this face Normal To the screen with the orange edge Horizontal.
Give me the hints and this time I will make a video for myself.
Click on the surface, then the Normal To button on your Standard Views toolbar to bring it normal to your screen. If the orange edge isn't oriented like you want it, hold down Alt and rotate the model with your arrow keys until it is. You can usually orient a model by clicking on one surface, then hold down Ctrl to select a second surface (that isn't parallel to the first), then clicking on the Normal To button. That will orient the model with the first surface selected normal to the screen and the second surface at top. It doesn't look like that would have worked with your model because I don't see a surface to use for the top.
OK, that is getting me closer - but I need to refine the angle of the Alt Arrow rotation. How to I set the angle resolution?
Edit: I found it.
Thanks for your help.
I think I was half remembering the two plane technique you mentioned, thinking I could use a linear edge and a plane.
And actually with this part the two plane technique can be used.
