Upgrading to Win 10 caused Solidworks 2015 to not function, Problem something related to new File Explorer 20,
Where can I download SP5. I find sites that Discuss SP5, but they do not downloadl.
Available now is only SP5.0 EV.
Try to compatibility with Win 8 on sw executable.
What does "Try to compatibility..." mean? I upgraded to "Windows 10 Pro". What do you mean "Win 8"?? I original question was where can I download SP5.0 EV ?

You have to sign up first and provide the required details for Early Visibility Access.
Once completed you will find SW 2015 SP 5 EV in the Downloads button of your Customer portal
The "EV" has been available for nearly 3 weeks so I expect the released version of SP5 to be very soon.
Almost a month now and still nothing...must be having issues with it.
i have several people with install issues that are waiting and hoping SP5 will fix them.
They pulled the sp5 EV due to problems with it, and the actual sp5 is currently not known when it will be released, even by vendors
By Win 8, he means Windows 8. This is because, to the best of my knowledge, SolidWorks is still buggy on Windows 10.
I wouldn't be surprised if the "upgrade" to Windows 10 is what's causing 2015 to break.
Uh, the EV version is still available as of 9:35 PST this morning.
If you can't get ahold of the EV version of SP5, do a search for Windows 10 compatibility mode. I had SolidWorks 2015 SP4 running fine on Windows 10 at home.
Odd, am on the EV list and cannot see it, VAR told me it wasn't up either, though that was last week, not sure why you can see it and I can't. the VAR sent me a link to it the day they released it, installed it, ran it for 5 days, corrupted a couple of features, uninstalled it and found i couldn't find it since then, and VAR kept telling me it must have been pulled.
have to check more I suppose, thanks for letting me know
Are you getting the EV version of SP5 from the customer portal?
i couldn't see it either - i had to enable EV in my profile and then sign up to receive EV's
Have been setup for EV for 10 years, and normally have no issues, checked just now and still setup for EV and still cannot see it. not sure why

Sooo, we dont know when the production version of SP5.0 will be out? I am ready for it.
just contacted VAR again and they confirmed they cannot see it through customer portal, but can through VAR portal.
Expecting the 5.0 to be released this week.
Its strange that SP5 is not available yet,
On the other side SW 2016 0.1 is out.
I am using SW 15 SP 5 EV.
My subscription is going to expire on 30th October.
I may not be able to renew immediately.
If SP 5 launches in November then Am I eligible to use SP5 EV for a few months without an active subscription?
SW2016 SP 0.1 is mainly to address the Bonjour version issue.
As per the schedule on the download site, SP 5 should be out in October itself. I'm sure you can keep using EV in case you've no issues using it.
Any new news on this? I have 600 PC's to upgrade from SW2014 to 2015 and I really do not want to deal with the windows security patch/'bug' KB3072630. SP5.0 addresses this.
5 weeks and counting since EV5.0 dropped...
I heard that tomorrow was the tentative drop last week, still no idea what's causing the delay though.
I'm not sure if anyone has solved this yet or not but i had the same issue months ago when I built a new workstation for myself and after some searching i found a solution that worked for me. I have had no more issues, i'm running Windows 10 Pro and Solidworks 2015 SP4. I will find the article where i downloaded the files but there is an installer and an uninstaller so when you upgrade to SP5 you can uninstall the fix. I'll post a link to the article later today when i find it.
Found the link. The link to the file is not workin anymore, at least not from my tablet. If you want to read up on it : http://forum.solidworks.com/thread/98713
The full and final version of 2015 sp5 is now available for download... Apologies for the unexpected delay. We found two important stability fixes after SP5EV had gone live and we felt it was worthwhile to delay the official version of SP5 so we could include the fixes to the widest possible audience in the full version of SP5.
