I have a simple sheet metal with the thickness of 1,2mm and a coin forming tool with a diameter of 2,8mm and thickness of 0,5mm. When I punch it in the diameter of the "cut" is 2,8mm as it should be but the "extruted" part is ∅5,2mm. I assume because 2,8+2*thickness of sheet...but it's not how it should work in real life. The metal should strech and clog together and the "extruded" diameter should be far less...for instance ∅3,0mm (I have an exsisting part in my hand and I measured it).
So my question is, that am I missing some settings, or is that any way to get my desired ∅3,0mm with forming tool, or forming tool is not the right tool for me in this case?
