Been having an issue where I create a fully defined sketch, yet am able to grab a black line and drag it resulting in the dimension being adjusted. How do I not have this happen? Is there something in Options i need to select/deselect?
Are you going by color to see if the sketch is fully defined? or are you looking at the bottom right hand part of your screen where it will tell you; under defined or fully defined... Could be the color option for under defined sketches is black, as there is no way you can drag a fully defined sketch, it is set as an unmovable object...
Here is what you want to uncheck
It may be defined with a length and width dimension but is it dimensioned / related to the origin? If not then it will still be possible to move it.
Can you attach the part on here?
Yes, even when related to origin. Simple scenario is sketching a simple 2x2 on a front plane with a starting corner on the origin. Once dimensioned, fully defining, I am able to drag a blackened line which adjusts the dimension. Doing this still shows the sketch as being fully defined but at whatever height it was dragged at.
Note that I am using SolidWorks 2011.
Thank you John! I unselected and it solved my issue.
The Status bar at the bottom of the screen states that it's fully defined?
