I am doing isometric view for routings and pipes and spools but the dimensions are not well aligned with the isometric view and it is difficult to assign it on the items. do somebody have a solution for that ?
I tried to use it but in the end gave up.
The only use we have for the iso view is to give an impression what the spool or route looks like in it.
All dimensioning we do are in classic front-top-side views. I know, it's completely against what I learned in my piping draughtsman training but it's the only viable solution I found that works correctly and quickly without having to double check each and every dimension for it's accuracy, which when you use iso view dimension you better do.
Reason being that indeed it's near impossible to put the dimensions where they should, especially manually, and even if you succeed then it's near impossible to see where a dimension actual starts or stops if there's flanges or equipment involved. Which means that only the most simplest of routes which only contain elbows, bends and T's can be dimensioned in such a way that it's understandable.
