I cannot get my sheet metal part to flatten, it seems to not like cut/extrude # 5. Can anyone help me figure the problem out? Thank you.
My assumption is my cut-extrude# 5 is interfering with the bend line(s) on this part, however, the part uses lofted bends and bend line locations are not shown. I need the part exactly how it is, extruded cuts and all. Any suggestions/solutions to this problem guys? Any help would be appreciated, my co-worker and I can't seem to figure it out. Thank you.
Watch what happens when you move the cut-extrude 5 to after the flat-pattern.
Try adding the cut-extrude 5 to post flattening. Make sure you sketch the cut in the correct orientation. Play with it there.
As a workaround, If you need it to be displayed in the bent orientation, I would create a configuration to display how this is cut through while bent as a separate feature, suppressing that which fails.
I'm actually getting rebuild errors trying to flatten my part, I know how to flatten the part. Thanks for the help though Jacob.
Hello Kyle,
The problem is that solidworks needs a the beginning or the end of the loft to calculate the flatpattern.
At the beginning you cut away the start.
with your last cut you cut away the beginning.
You need to adjust your model so that a little bit of the original edge of the lofted feature is still there.
I think this will save your issue.
With kind regards,
Francesco
