Thank you Deepak. I tried to set a distance constraint. According to the mating FAQ, MateXpert should suggest solutions to error. How come I cannot see the suggested solutions? I get an error like:
Cannot move to a position that satisfies this mating constraint. The distance between two flat surfaces are incorrect. The real actual distance is 95.1931253 mm but the desired target distance set by the user is 99mm.
Do you know how to solve this error?
Suppress some other mate and set the desired distance. Then unsuppress them one by one.
Thank you. By suppressing "some other mate", how do I know which ones to suppress? To find out which ones to suppress, do I have to do it by trial and error. Am I right? There are so many mates to try.
Just the one related to that component. And you don't need to suppress all other mates of that component, just 1 or 2.
Thanks. Just curious. Why SW gives this kind of distance error? Maybe by knowing the reason, I could design accordingly to avoid thus error from now on.
I do get those issues some time but never wondered why. Just went with suppressing mates and go along.
Tried but doesn't work yet. I forced on added the distance constraint and then around 20-30 violations showed up. Is there a good tutorial on diagnosis and fixing such problem using MateXpert and suppress?
sounds like your mating things in a loop
if it rotates should not have more than 1 concentric mate
check the existing mates on the part that keeps making the error and have a think about why its getting stuck
maybe the part has been fixed in place ?
You need to have conflicting mates to use MateXpert
