I am trying to choose the depth, width, and angle of the chamfer i want on a specific edge. I can only find options that will either let me choose the angle and width, or the width and depth. Is there any way to control all 3?
Maybe I'm wrong, but won't any two of those variables determine the third? In other words, if the depth and width are both 1" then the angle has to be 45° (assuming the sides are perpendicular).
That's the way I remember it. Trying to define all three would over define something.
When I only define 2 (angle and distance), the depth of the chamfer (distance 2) is not right
You are likely defining the length of the other leg instead of the one you wish to define. Does inverting the chamfer (click the change direction radio button) correct this?
Try the example that Glenn gave. Add a chamfer of 1" x 45°. D2 should be 1". If it doesn't add up it's probably because one of the faces is sloped or curved. If you have two faces at 90° to each other, you will get the numbers discussed above. Do you have a specific reason that you are trying to control all three values?
Glenn's first answer is the CORRECT ANSWER.
It was an issue on my part. I accidentally mismarked the dimensions.
I agree, you only need to define two.
