We would like to start using the balloon quantity feature. Is there any way to turn it on by default when starting a new drawing? My hope is that i can turn it on and save as part of our drawing template.
Start a new drawing and insert a view. Add a balloon to it with quantity. Save. the drawing anywhere and any name. Now delete the view and save the drawing as template overwriting the existing template. Create new drawing and use balloons with quantity (i.e. balloon with have the quantity option checked)
Or start a new drawing, and go to Tools > Options > Document Properties > Annotations > Balloons and choose Quantity from the drop-down shown below. Save your drawing template.
Glenn this won't give you item number and quantity together (which I think the OP needs) but just the quantity
You're right. I should have looked at the OP's screenshot more closely. Sorry about that. It's odd that you can't set split balloons at Document Properties.

Yes that's kind of strange that having an option there, you can not set it. Not sure if that is standard specific.
