forming tools

I am currently working on a sheet metal project where an architect wishes to have a 3/8" pleat running the length of it. So if I have a 90" span of material the pleat would be 89". The sheet metal is 16ga 316 stainless steel.

I have tried using the forming tool function in Solidworks but I get one error after another. Usually seeing the same error more than once saying that the radius of the forming tool has to be larger than the thickness of the material. Obviously I accounted for this when making the forming tool but no matter what I make the radius the error exists and the end result is quite disappointing.

Is there an easier way to do this? I mean if the pleat ran the full length of the part then I could just make the profile and form the sheet metal from there, yet the pleat has an end condition stipulating an ending previous to the end of the part.

Any information would be helpful. Thanks.
