I have a part 192" long. I need to make a slot every 2" on center.
How can i do this without making 1 slot then another.
I am new to this. I would think I can make one and array the slot but I can't figure it out.
I have solidworks 2014
Make your first slot. Then try the "Linear Pattern" command. It should give you what your looking for.
You should use linear pattern for this operation.
Thanks. I finally figured it out. Just wasn't putting in the correct information in the linear pattern.
If/when you upgrade to 2015, you can make a smart linear pattern that will automatically adjust the number of slots on your part when the part changes length. So if your part goes from 192" to 180", you end up with 6 fewer slots automatically. You can do this in 2014 but you have to write and maintain your own equations or configure the number of slots.
