This poll is quite telling. The majority of people lag on XP 32 and the next largest category jumped to Windows 7 64.
Lack of support for v2009 in Windows 7 doesn't seem to make sense, given these numbers (at least if I interpret that many in the XP32 camp make the jump directly to Windows 7 64 as I did).
SolidWorks 2009 does not support Windows 7 because the support lifecycle of SW2009 has ended, not because users aren't using Windows XP. (Note that Windows 7 was released two years after SolidWorks 2009 SP0 was released and almost a year after the last service pack - SP05).
We certainly have taken the slower than expected decline of Windows XP usage into consideration for currently supported SolidWorks versions and extended support for Windows XP by one release. See the "Windows XP Retirement Announcement" section of the SolidWorks 2010 SP05 release notes.
I wonder how much has changed since this poll was created back in Feb. of 2010 since there is no way to go back and change your vote. How about running this once a year, that way you get a more accurate picture of what's out there.
Whoa...how did this poll end up so far up on the list?
This is so out of date, it should be deleted.
