I'm no FEA expert but from my dealings with the automotive sector I'm fairly sure you won't be able to do anything that complex in the standard SolidWorks simulation packages. You are looking at specialist modules for high end FEA systems in things like CATIA. This is a link to the CATIA simluation section:
AFAIK ADAMS is widely used for crash dynamics. I dont think Simulation would be helpful in studying crash.
There are 2 key products used for detailed vehicle crash analysis. Abaqus ( A Dassault Systemes SIMULIA packageA Dassault Systemes SIMULIA package) and LS-DYNA (By LSTC).
While ADAMS is used by pretty much every single car company for vehicle dynamics, the above packages are used for simulating high speed collisions with large plastic deformation.
I think you should consider of using LS-DYNA or RADEOS (I'd rather using LS-DYNA, it's cheaper and better!)...
LS-DYNA is the most used in the automotive developers around the world including PORSCHE, MERCEDES BENZ, GM, FORD,VOLKSWAGEN GMBH among many others.
