when I edit a sketch in context of assembly then then use rotate function sw crashes every time. If I open the part and do same thing its fine.
anyone have any ideas
Does the problem go away if you check the box to use Software OpenGL mode:
If so, this is a probably graphics driver problem and SOLIDWORKS has dropped the ball in listing the driver as certified. Contact your VAR and get an SPR.
no does same thing yep contact var next step
I would have a look at this thread 20 to 30 Times Faster Graphics Response with SOLIDWORKS 2019’s New Graphics Engine
There are a few issues with SOLIDWORKS 2019 and the graphic architecture.
Look at some of the suggestions there. There will be some rectification with SP1
I went from 4-5 crashes a day in 2019 to (I think) zero or close to it on making this change (Select dynamic streaming) in Nvidia control panel. The crashes I had were similar - editing in context parts. The frame rate is also much better although the display is dull and flat - it definitely loses some image aesthetic quality with this setting but I guess thats the tradeoff. (Using an NVIDIA K2200)
Note the subsequent difference in the RX reliability report.
