I have created an assembly from two parts and since then modified one of the parts in the assembly, but when i view the parts file by its self the modification is not there? can someone pleas help me with this?
I don't know what's the problem is but...
1-You use PDM?
2-Do you use names for assing to a file component?
3-Do you check if is there any other component with the same name on Solidworks Explorer?
3-Could you attach your file?

Did you modify it in the context of the assembly or did you modify the part itself?
As Ruben Balderrama said, we really need you to attach your file to be able to help with this one.
There are a number of reasons why your part wouldn't update.
See if How can I get an Assembly cut or Hole Wizard feature to show in my Part file? will help.
In the real world you can drill a hole into two mating parts before they are assembled
you can drill a hole through two mating parts after they are assembled (or at least clamped together).
This is often referred to as "match machining" and is often used to place a dowel pin for precise alignment.
It sounds like you have done the second technique - machined at the assembly level rather than the part level.
So SolidWorks allows you to duplicate real world operations in your digital prototype.
All is logical.
It does sound like you created the feature on the assembly level, rather than the part level as other mentioned above. Try this:
Open the assembly and find the feature on the tree. If it's below the 'Mates' folder, then it IS an assembly level feature.
If it is: Edit the feature, at the very bottom of the property manager, you'll want to check the option "Propagate feature to parts". That should resolve it. Now you've created your first external reference on a part file. Be mindful that this modelling strategy is complex enough that you'll want to consider some standard for file management. The advanced assemblies class or file management class that all SOLIDWORKS Resellers offer should cover this. Personally, I like to break external references as soon as I can.
