I have a part with 2 solid parts and i want the material property of these solid parts into custom property list
How can i do it?
Thank you in advance
Is this what you are looking for?
Thank you for your reply but this isn't looking for
This is the material from the part but i am looking for the solid body material to put into the custom property list
If you've assigned different materials to each body (as explained at Can I assign different materials to bodies in a weldment Part?), then the MATERIAL property will automatically be generated as a cut list property. That property can then be called out in a cut list table, or in a note attached to the bodies in a drawing view.
It is necessary to be in weldment mode for this ?
I will prefer to be only in a part mode
And if is in weldment mode how can i put the material in the custom properties?
Can you choose the Detailed Cut List Option in a BOM?
I do not know how to link a second material into a custom property in the way that Material is linkable (as Jim clearly demonstrates). I tried altering the Material link code to specify a second body with material override, but it wasn't clear.
Something which I do is create another custom property and manage this data manually. IT IS NOT linked. Just like any other custom property, these data are extractable within a drawing or table as needed, for callouts, sorting, or a pre-purchase specification review check.
For example, a ball valve component's Material may be primarily ASTM A36 Steel, but I also manually track its SealMaterial such as PTFE / PEEK / Viton / Buna N / Graphite.
OK i agree with you but if i have ten or twenty different materials for the same part how do i manage them?
My understanding is you want a list of custom properties of each body of the same part model. The only way I know to achieve this is to create a cut list, therefore welment cut list. You don't necessarly need to create weldment features, but, once you finished with the normal features, click the weldment icon:
Then update the cut list
Then in your drawing, insert a weldment cut list, right click on the right column and insert a new column on the right
Select the new column created and in the property manager select 'Cut list item property' and choose 'MATERIAL'.
Hope it helps.
OK Thank you very much all of you for your suggestions Finally i will follow the weldment mode
