For surface modelling, offset surface contunuity (outer surface), do we have any restrictions or guide lines to follow?
Please have a look on attachement and share your view which one is preferred and reason for that.

Not that I'm a guru at surfacing by any stretch of imagination but I think you should turn off lines and just use shaded view and then just try using a different colour on it. This will soon show you where there might be non-conforming or non-continuous curvature. Just in the images you've supplied I can see slight signs of this but I guess it depends on how fussy you want to be.
When i offsetting the surfaces to a particular distance the offset surface geometry or profile looks strange.
Why this is happening and how to avoid this kind of issues.
