I'd like to get in touch with software developers/architects (preferably in Australia) that are experienced in using the Solidworks API. Does anyone know where I could start or how to reach out to one? Is this even the sort of question you can ask on these forums?
Thanks so much for your help Alex. We actually need a permanent developer based in Perth, Western Australia who has these skills. So it's not something we can really do on a project by project or contract basis, not at this stage anyway.
I assume that by "software developers/architects" you mean that your project requires someone who can fully develop some sort of standalone application that somehow interacts with SolidWorks? Keith Rice at CadSharp.com is pretty good at that. Luke Malpass at angelsix.com is also very good. This is just my personal impression, but your project will have to be pretty interesting to grab Luke's attention. He has his irons in a lot of different fires.
However, if the job scope is not actually that large, as Alex mentioned there are a lot of other folks that could help you out.
Yes your assumption is correct, we need a developer in .NET stack that can interface with the Solidworks API. And we actually need the person to be a permanent full time employee based where we are in Perth Western Australia... we don't ask for much eh? ;-)
Well, that's a horse of a different color... Looks like a nice place to go! Wish I was a .NET developer... :-)
There are quite a few people on this forum that are very experienced in using the API. Off the top of my head, I know at least two (and I know there are more) that contract with people to create projects for them. If you have a specific question or need help troubleshooting a portion of a macro or api program then the users here are typically very helpful.
