I just opened my assembly and everything has turned black. I read this article on how to fix that (Part turned pitch black ), but that is a part, my whole assembly has turned black. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I just rebuild when it happens to me. It's a pretty regular occurrence for me when hiding and unhiding stuff and has been through several versions of SolidWorks and video drivers.
Ctrl-q / rebuild has always work for me as well.
the black is an incomplete rebuild. something happened or changed during the rebuild that the program didnt understand. click rebuild and it should fix. this happens when you generally have a large assembly (in number of parts) or multiple parts with mate errors.
Thank you all for your quick replies. I just tried rebuilding it multiple times and still no avail. Everything is still showing up black. Also, I tried opening this same assembly on another computer and on that computer it also shows the entire assembly as being black. Any other suggestions?
I have just figured out how to fix this, but I'll still put the answer out here for those who might need it in the future. I went into the Appearance tab > Scenes, Lights, and Cameras Tab > Lights and then make sure that the 3 directional lights are turned off (right click them and then click "Off in SOLIDWORKS"). Then right click Ambient and click Edit Light. Make sure the "On in SOLIDWORKS" checkbox is checked and that the Ambient light setting is set as 0.5. Thanks again for all of your help!
May be it's easier to change scene and return it back. I used this method then I met some bug with using camera view.
