last week I bought the new surface book 2, because Microsoft wrote that SolidWorks run on it. But like on my old surface book under the menu "View" the "RealView Graphics" stays always grey. So it seams I can't activate it.
Realview runs on pro level graphics cards. Quadro, FirePro or P level Intel integrated.
GeForce graphics do not support RealView.
Graphics Card Drivers | Hardware & System Requirements | SOLIDWORKS
SOLIDWORKS | Hardware & System Requirements | SOLIDWORKS
You may be able to hack the registry to get RealView to work. There are lots of hits on Google for hacking RealView in SolidWorks.
I read the same article. Bought one, tried it and returned it.....Not sure what you are doing with it, but can't see how this computer can be used as a working station. The lack of certified graphic cards for this computer should have raised a flag...but I really liked the way it looked.
Just too expensive of a picture to buy...
just add this key to your registry:
Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\SolidWorks\SOLIDWORKS 2018\Performance\Graphics\Hardware\Gl2Shaders\NV40\GeForce GTX 1060/PCIe/SSE2]
This enables realview graphics on the new 15" Microsoft Surface Laptop 2. With GTX 1060 6GB card.
