Filleting this edge is making the thread transparent. What is the reason for that?
At least where I work chamfer is slightly bigger than thread OD.
Is this part going to be 3D printed, cast? I do not think that small of fillet can be machined.
Probably has something to do with trying to fillet the thread edge which has multiple edges exposed. Normally you chamfer the end of an external thread.
Seems to be the edge enclosed in the red box. Zooming in you can see what SW is trying to do. This is one I would send off to your VAR.
Does the same affect happen if the fillets are before the thread in the tree?
Error message pops up.
Looks like the fillets cannot be moved because there is a chamfer feature applied to the threads before the two fillet features and a missing edge error occurs.
Maha, why are you both applying both a chamfer and fillet to the thread edge ?
As usual: chamfer, easy to align male part with female part. Fillet to remove sharp edges.
Now it is okay. I increased the chamfer dimension by 1mm, transparent vanished.
Go an Run Evaluate (check "stringent"). Looks very like a part with surface errors.
