I am sure this has been discussed, if so please direct me to the appropriate post!

We get quite a few step files that get converted and saved as a part file such as this;example 1.JPG

The issue is we end up with feature trees that look like this;

example 2.JPG

I was wondering if it would speed up the time to open this if;

  1. when being converted it it were to be converted to an assembly where all bodies would be a piece part
  2. use the combine feature to combine as many solid bodies together minimizing the amount of solid bodies

I tend to work remotely some times so i use a laptop, it works fine for the majority of work i do but when it comes to files like this the laptop struggles so i am looking for ways to improve this performance of the laptop.
