I was wondering if there is a way to label the parts in Nesting Solidworks after generating the sheet.
What do you mean by this? Is the nesting thing a specific add on for Solidworks?
Or are you talking about a nested list? (like flat tree view vs. nested tree view)
Or are you talking about nested profiles in sketches?
Can you please explain what "Nesting" SolidWorks refers to? I've never heard of it.
I am not aware of a Dassault/SWX product for nesting sheet metal punching programs, which is what I suspect you are talking about. Something like these: NESTINGWorks | 3D CNC Nesting Software inside SOLIDWORKS and SolidNEST | Nesting Integration Inside SolidWorks. If that is what you are talking about then I suggest you address your question to your software vendor.
I am guessing he means when a CAM package like camworks is installed within solidworks as a addin.
I have used BCAM, CAMWorks, SurfCAM with in solidworks, it depends on the package
however you can tab over inside of solidworks just like with render tools.
If this is the case which CAM software do you have installed as a addin to solidworks?
You mean creating a dwg from more than one 3D model?
I am guessing he means this:
OK, I am done guessing now. LOL
Yes, this is a correct answer !!! LOL ....
Those must be SWX2017. That is the most recent egg that Dassault laid on us!
anyone get the license plate number of that truck that just ran me over?
note to self, do not type guess in the SW forums
I didn't mean any offense....was just in fun.

We used to put a sketch on the flat pattern with the part number.
The only time you would see the sketch would be in the flat pattern (in the formed part it is suppressed.)
You could see the part number, but you would want to put it on a layer that would not get cut.
(We put it on a different layer, and we would "etch" the number into the part.)
This Nesting issue not available to SOLID WORKS, I try this one before but not available.
What we did we make it manual on cad or if you like buy software for nesting metal sheet.
