So, remember the old Nintendo, you put the cartridge in, turn on the system and your in the game?
From a programming/coding/software perspective, what would it take for solidworks to operate like that? no OS, no antivirus bs, no browsers, etc.... just turn it on, and your in the solidworks manufacturing environment with direct access to bare metal. complete with CAM, PDM, access to network file storage etc.
this is just a curiosity.
