# How can I model a spray bottle?

Hi, all.

I'm a beginner of Surface modeling and trying to model a splay bottle with hand grips as a training, but I cannot model it properly...

Is there anybody who can advice me how to model it?

Especially the hand grips part is so much difficult for me.

I tried to use "Freeform" command but I cannot get sufficient result.

Any hints or tips will be appreciated.

Thank you,

Yoko

Yoko,

There's a tutorial built into SolidWorks for a basic spray bottle with hand grip. Follow it through & it should give you some pointers.

Hi Kevin, thanks for the useful information.

I'm trying some of them and recommend them to my colleague too!

Hi Yoko,

How far have you made it through the Surfacing tutorials built straight into SW?

have you tried watching any youtube videos? Like this SOLIDWORKS Complex Shapes & Surfaces for Beginners - SOLIDWORKS Tutorial - YouTube  but not exclusively this one as there are many.

Hi, Bjorn.

Unfortunately I cannot check the youtube videos in my office (it means that I cannot try the technics watching video) due to our security policy, but I watched the some videos and they helped me very much.

Thank you!

Yoko,..  the above videos should give you some reference or thoughts for other ways to do the handle area...

..attached is one way you can do it... (there are many)... this example is using a boundary surface and fill surface.

..also, since this is a symmetrical object, I'd suggest you only work with 1/2 of the geometry and mirror for final.

Hi, Paul.

I tried making the 1/2 geometries and it really works!

Thanks for you, I could finished my practice!

But at first, I couldn't realize the attached file and I made the data with my own way.

Thanks again.

According to your advice, I watched video, tried some tuterials and finally I could finished the bottle!

It is still kind of awkward data but so far, so good, right?

Unfortunately, I can use the Solidworks only in my office and usually I cannot have much time to just practice the surface modeling.

But I will keep train myself so that I could improve my modeling skill...
