How to make standard symbols/diagrams that can be inserted into a drawing without affecting the BOM.

I work for a company that uses standard parts/connections in their product. We are looking to find a way to streamline out setup instructions. Is there a way that we can take a model, add text/labels, save it (or a view) as a png or some other file type so that it is readily available to drop into a drawing. We have currently been using jpgs but the text becomes distorted once imported.

We have tried saving individual assemblies/exploded views and creating a view in the drawing, but this does not allow the text to come with it, and also adds the parts of the assemblies into the BOM which is not ideal.

      Any recommendations would be great.
