also the MSI Stealth laptop does not run a certified graphics card (I believe they run Nvidia GTX cards) although these are powerful cards they are not supported with SOLIDWORKS.
most of the time there is no issue and many will say that it doesnt make a difference but at the end of the day if you do not run supported hardware there is always the potential for issues.
what version of SOLIDWORKS are you running? year and SP.
what version of Windows are you running?
if the graphics driver update does not work then I would try a quick registry reset to see if you have any registry corruption : http://www.javelin-tech.com/blog/2011/09/resetting-solidworks-windows-registry/
Basic question here - are you loading files from over the internet or a LAN instead of your local drive? There is a lot of data in any drawing and associated files of even small size, and sometimes it just takes a few minutes to transfer the gigabytes of data over such connections. As an experiment, do a pack and go from one of these drawings onto your laptop. Then close and open the one on your own computer, see if there is a difference.
Are you running SWX2017? There have been numerous cases of very slow opening. There are few things folks have done to resolve this: Solidworks 2017 extremely slow to load
If you are running 2017 then try these things and let us know hat does the trick for you.
What version are you running and have all the files in the drawing been converted to that version? Also, where are they loaded from? Is your network having problems? The list can go on but that itself doesn't answer the question you want answered...
I have seen this problem with SOLIDWORKS 2018 after SP2.0.
If you have used Intel HD graphics, then it is too much slow.
