Does anyone know how to quickly and directly check dimensions on 3D model?
If there is feature history you can check it from there, else use measure tool
In addition to the measure tool, keeping Instant 3D on just by selecting a face offers relevant dimensional info.
Are there any Dimension tools what can be used directly on specific lines/surfaces to check/measure dimensions, except the way you showed?

Yes just use the dimension tool in the model (the same one you use for sketches for adding dimensions) and that would create/add driven dimensions.
When I tried to measure dimensions of specific lines and profiles of surfaces in Section View, there is only Smart Dimension tool available, but it does not work.
Do you know why?
The status bar can often give you basic info from selected items
Status bar, who uses such an AutoCAD like thing?
and to be legit,
Yan, is this what you are looking to do? If you go to evaluate and select the measure tool you can obtain dimensions point-to-point or line-to-surface or however you desire. It also gives dimensions in X Z and Z.
Is the way you showed using SolidWorks?
I could not find the Evaluate tool bar in SolidWorks.
Yan, If you right click the tabs on the command manager you can turn it on. Evaluate should be one of the four default tabs and it may be turned off if you cannot see it.
Edit: Looking at your screenshot I think your Command Manager is actually off. You can turn it on here.
Thank you very much for your help.
You should have some of the labels circled in the picture below. This is called the command manager. If you will right click on one of them you get the menu shown. Then you can select the options you want to show.
ew dont use the ribbon! just click tools>measure
or right click your toolbar area to add the "tools" toolbar to your beautiful set of toolbars
Did you try double clicking on the surface? It simply brings up the defining dimensions.
Yes, I did. But it brings up the dimensions from sketch, not distance between specific two lines.
