I saved the file in SOLIDWORKS 2017 SP0. If you are using an older version of the software, this is why the file I attached can not be opened.

There is an error in your sketch as is demonstrated below:

**360**dimension actually refers to the "top" edge of the teeth - not the bottom, so this needs to be corrected first to find the correct dimension.The gap of interest is fully defined by all other dimensions and relations added to the sketch - the height of the teeth does not need to be added in this case. However, we can add this dimension in as a driven dimension just to measure if we want to:

In this case, we can see that the height is equal to

**18.81**.Additionally, here are the assumptions I made:

1. The distance between teeth is = to 10 (same as the top)

2. The distance between the edge and the first tooth is equal to the distance between teeth/2=5

3. All teeth are the same

Sorry for the confusion. Although the dimension is not explicitly given, it is certainly implied through basic assumptions and geometrical relationships. He same goes for both of the dimensions you reference. Enough information is given. Does that make sense?

The way I know this for sure is actually using SOLIDWORKS. Underdefined sketches are shown as blue, while fully defined sketches are shown as black. As we can see from previous screenshots, the sketch is fully defined.

Reminds me of a theoretical problem from College, we were given something like this with a few key dimensions missing.

The object of this part of the course was implied geometry as you may encounter it in the field.

For school work I would look at the bottom of the tooth and "imply" equal length to the top of the tooth, since the part is symmetric the lands on the outside would be half or 5mm.

This would work if for no other reason you can discuss it with your instructor explaining how you got to where your model is.

One of the key fundamentals is problem solving and this would be one where I would pick the most logical approach and be prepared to explain it to your instructor on how or why you came up with what you did.

If that was the only you were given, I think you are correct. The height appears to be missing.
