If you are the only user, it could be either VC or something else corrupt. Try running Rx on SW.

Christian Chu Jul 21, 2016 1:50 PM (in response to Chris Saller)I open a sub-assembly from a main assembly and all parts in the sub-assembly appears in one color, I switch back to the main assembly, and all parts in that sub-assembly appears in diff. colors

John Stoltzfus Jul 21, 2016 1:44 PM (in response to Christian Chu)Not sure on this but if you open an older file, that has the colors one way and then you open another file that the template is the other way, don't the tools/options collide, where the color follows the first opened file...
