I have received an iges file from customer that is a jig, it has 5 different pieces on one plate, that needs machining, i am trying to save each individual piece, but cant.
Anyone help me...?
What you attached is an AutoCAD drawing with a 3D view of the fixture. You need an Iges of a solid model or a 2D drawing, but then you would need to develop the part, check to see if they can send you a step or iges file.
I did receive an iges file. here it is....
The IGS file is a single body part.
You will have to use the Split & Save tool to create separate bodies.
When I imported the IGES my options we set to 'Try forum solid'
You can use the Split feature, if you edit 'my' split feature you can save the blocks out as independent SW files, if need be?
I started to delete the fillet faces, but as you can see the 2 bosses did not want to delete the fillets...
..seems to open fine.. you'd have to work in separating each jig from the sheet though... and looks like the iges came from..CATIA Version 5-6 Release 2012... (funny, the only failure was a face from the base sheet?)
Another method would be to just cut-extrude the base plate away to leave the 5 bodies, and then clean up the fillets (welds ?). If the bodies are set into pockets, just add the required material.

In that case I would start by deleting the weld faces (Delete Face command with Patch on).
That's just what I did
I think is a bit more than using the top face and splitting the part. Most likely the new bodies need to be installed in pockets.
See the attached, I split them out in different configurations, you can save each instance and clean them up to where you can use them ..
