Micah Haines Apr 19, 2016 6:24 PM (in response to Dan Lauber)Thanks for the reply Dan Lauber. The icon does display the drawing info, thanks. But, I would like to select a + sign next to the part and see drawing references. Like drilling down.... Similar to Workgroup. I thought there was an EPDM Task pane option setting for this. I've looked without success.

Re: EPDM - How do you show part drawing reference from the EPDM task pane while in an Assembly?
Prasad Bhonsule Apr 19, 2016 6:08 PM (in response to Micah Haines)Hi Micah, unfortunately EPDM does not drill down to this level which is a pain. What you can do is bring up the check out/ get version dialog for the part and that will show any drawings referenced to it. That's the only way I have found.
Kind regards,
Prasad

Re: EPDM - How do you show part drawing reference from the EPDM task pane while in an Assembly?
Micah Haines Apr 19, 2016 6:23 PM (in response to Prasad Bhonsule)Thanks for the feedback Prasad Bhonsule. Drilling down would be helpful. My end goal is to quickly know which part and subassembly ( and parts in subassemblies) have missing drawings. Perhaps there is a EPDM SQL query that spit our a report that will let me know which parts in the assembly don't have drawings. Has anyone written a query to do this or something similar?

Prasad Bhonsule Apr 19, 2016 6:38 PM (in response to Micah Haines)Hi Micah, yes I believe so, check out S-054240 in the Knowledge Base, the solution has a SQL query attached.
Kind regards,
Prasad

Micah Haines Apr 20, 2016 5:57 PM (in response to Prasad Bhonsule)Thanks Prasad, It looks like that SQL query in S-054240 is looking up the tree and not down tree. It is a start though.

Re: EPDM - How do you show part drawing reference from the EPDM task pane while in an Assembly?
Wayne Marshall Apr 21, 2016 3:36 AM (in response to Micah Haines)Hi Micah,
Although it isn't possible to see this information in the SolidWorks Task Pane, are you aware of the trick to displaying it in the contains Tab in the Windows Explorer Vault View? If you are looking at the Contains for your Top Level Assembly and switch from the 'active' Configuration to 'Do not Show Configurations' then then the Drawings appear in the window as parent nodes to parts they are linked to.
Hope that is useful
Cheers

Re: EPDM - How do you show part drawing reference from the EPDM task pane while in an Assembly?
Bill Stadler Apr 21, 2016 10:25 AM (in response to Wayne Marshall)Yes, you have to add the slddrw extension to file types that you wish to them show for. However this can cause a huge performance hit with Large assemblies/drawings. Every time you got to Get latest version/Contains/Preview an assembly it will bring down all the drawings fir each part and assembly as well. This can take a long time as well as fill your hard drive with unneeded files. I read a KB article that said it is not recommended to do this because of performance/stability issues that it can cause. I can dig it up if needed.
