Re: EPDM Won't Allow Comments on Check In

when EPDM detect no change in the file that you are "checking in", it will instead do an "undo checkout". this does not create a new version of the file, so there is no where for it to put a comment.

Michael Dekoning Aug 27, 2015 3:41 PM (in response to Rick Hombsch)I was thinking that the initial check-in after a file is added to the vault doesn't allow a comment. All subsequent check-in actions do.

Re: EPDM Won't Allow Comments on Check In
Ayush Sharma Aug 31, 2015 12:13 PM (in response to Rick Hombsch)Whenever a file is added to a vault, just by pasting the file in the vault.
Epdm creates a version of that file(in private state).
As we know whenever we try to check in a file with no change, the file vault doesn't create any version of file and hence the comment box is grey out.
Same way when we try to check in the file first time after pasting it, the comment box is 'grey out'.
To test this more copy paste a file in EPDM and fill the data card, now if you try to check in, you can easily add a comment.

Scott Rypstra Jan 27, 2017 1:15 PM (in response to Rick Hombsch)Can I suggest viewing the History of the file and click on one of the entries and you should be able to add more comments...once you edit that entry, you should then be able to edit comments of the other entry too!
