Hello,
I'm experiencing a glitch where I cannot add equals to relationship in smart dimension. Please see that attached picture. in the picture I am editing the dimension on the left and adding an ="D1@Sketch1" command. D1 is the dimension on the top. When I press the green check mark to fish the edit nothing happens i have tried rebooting solid works but nothing seems to work. Has anyone else come across this issue?

I have attached a part file tho i think it has to do with my instillation of solid works. i am running windows 10.
I did try clicking on the driving dimension but still the same issue. it wont let me processed past the green check mark.
I'm not able to replicate your issue. Tried all kind of system and document options. I am curious though. Will it allow you to "link values"? Control select both dimension > right click > link values?
I am currently re installing solidworks and .net framework. I will let you know.

there's a number of threads about at the moment,
concerning Win10 and problems-
IMHO not the best practice to start so soon-
as I understand it
SW will first support Win10 from SW15 sp5- release date October 2015
check out the other threads to see if you can get any joy-
try global variables and any other applicable suggestions
from the other threads-
but I feel this is a Win10 issue-
as I tried to open your prt.file with SW15 and cann't
reEdit: downloaded sample file again and it worked

If I predict that you installed SW AFTER July 14, 2015, would I be correct?

The fix is to uninstall SW, then uninstall the microsoft KB patch, then reinstall SW.
I encountered the same problem you did. Following the procedure noted above fixed the problem.
This one KB patch really, really screwed up the install process for Solidworks.

a regedit reset would be the easiest first to try-
or repair install
a new install is about the same-
if this is the same problem in Win10?

just a thought Laurence, try...>
start menu search programs and files>
type "installed" (without quotes) without return and see the panel results
click on "view installed updates"
type in the search box "KB3072630" without quotes
and the search will reveal either this KB- or none
if you have it RMB on it and uninstall - kelef

Try the following.
1. Log onto your PC as the local administrator not a user with admin rights.
2. Follow the instructions below to turn off the problems being experienced in earlier versions of Windows
a. Click 'Start', click 'Run', type "regedit" in the 'Open' box, and then click 'OK'.
b. Locate and click the following subkey in the registry: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Windows\Installer
Note: If this subkey does not exist, create it.
c. In the 'Edi't menu, point to 'New', and then click 'DWORD Value'.
d. For the DWORD name, type "RemappedElevatedProxiesPolicy", and then press 'Enter'.
e. Right-click "RemappedElevatedProxiesPolicy", and then click 'Modify'.
f. In the 'Value' data box, type 1, and then click 'OK'.
g. Install SolidWorks or try a repair of your installation.
h. After the application installs successfully, reset the 'RemappedElevatedProxiesPolicy' DWORD value to "0" to re-enable the security fix for KB 3072630 which you won't find as an update to Windows 10 as I think it is part of the OS.
Hopefully this will have the desired effect, it did for me..
Just a bit of additional information, I'm running SolidWorks as administrator in Windows 8 compatibility mode to overcome a few other issues.
I have tried reinstalling numerous time. Have tried registry key fix, removing security update 3072630, removing ALL security updates after and including 12/7/15, enabling .NET 3.5. Installs without error but have only succeeded in removing DLL error. Equations still refuse to work. Have same fault that = sign has to be deleted to accept input but cannot use or create variables so making it a one off entry in dimensioning. What else is lurking yet to be found?

have you tried clicking directly on the D1(15.0) dimension,
without the " = "
also if you upload a sample -
members can see your SW ver and settings,
and check on their system if the "glitch" is present
