I periodically have to draw a threaded post attached to a machined part. I'm aware of the fact that threads can be created by sweeping a triangle around a helix. However, this can be tedious. Additionally, I'm aware that this question has been asked before (I believe the most recent time was here: The specified item was not found.), but I'm not sure if anything has changed since then, and I'm also interested in getting more information.
Ultimately, I want a simple means of creating threads in SolidWorks like I can in Autodesk Inventor (demonstration: Creating a realistic thread in Autodesk Inventor 2013). Is this possible in the newest version of SolidWorks? If it's not, is there an add-on that can be purchased to obtain this functionality? Any information anyone can provide would be very much appreciated.
