Do you have RealView turned on?
nope, it's greyed out :/
do i need realview even for shadows?
if yes, what is that shadow which is just below the part on the floor?
Realview is supported if your graphics card is certified for SolidWorks. Check SolidWorks RX to see if your driver and board are supported.
With RealView enabled, you can turn on the display of shadows for one light source. The shadow you're seeing under the model is the ground shadow and that's more of a visual aid than an actual raytraced shadow.
Even if you can enable RealView and turn on shadows, you're going to get an OpenGL shadow which excludes things like indirect illumination and falloff. Your best bet for doing a solar study is to set up an animation where you move your lightsource about your subject, rendering to PhotoView as you do. it will take a whie to set up, but the results will be much closer to a realworld light study.
hey thanks for answer.
my graphics card isnt supported.
i couldnt get shadows to work.
by chance i got to know i can do it on sketchup pro, so i did the study on it.
