    Active PDF

I have some customers that are using 3d PDF documents to communicate their part data.  Clearly there is some form of model geometry embedded in these files, but from my experience these documents do not provide all the necessary dimensioning I need to manufacture.  Is there any way to extract model data from these PDFs?

          Hi Mike,

it is possible to take enough information from a model to get it recreated elsewhere.  you have the ability to hide components to view the parts of an assembly inside.  you can take as many measurements as you would like from the 3D pdf model.

we would only send this type of file out to a customer that has confirmed an order.

Just my input for what its worth.
