I'm doing a project in SW class.I were ask to make a 3d model of selfie stick and i not know how do assemble the joint at the end of the stick so my part will have the ability to point in any direction.
Thanks in advance,
Check if these videos helps you out:
Ball Joint Mates in Assemblies
Ball joint in SOLIDWORKS
I cant open the 1st link, I mean, its ok but I don't have access to the video
Sorry not sure as I'm also not able to access that video. I'm sure it used to be working earlier.
BTW here is another discussion that might be helpful: Re: Mating sphere to tube
The analog to a ball joint mate in SolidWorks is coincident points. Hinge joint is concentric circles. I recommend for mechanism design you draw part with only construction geometry until you get the action you need. Make all of your mates to the construction geometry. Then , when you've worked out the motion, you can just go in and add solids based on your construction lines.
So, to get a ball joint, I'd make two parts that were just construction lines of the appropriate member length, and make their ends coincident at the assembly.
