Hello, I need help with relations.
I need attach sketch line (selected) with surface.
Surface is no perpendicular to sketch.
I attachmet is file with sketches and I need to attach left line to angled surface.
How can I do it?
Thanks a lot
First, delete the vertical relation.
This may not be necessary but you should do it just in case. Since you are in a 2D sketch, you can't do an "on plane" relation. Instead you can make an intersection curve with the surface that will make a line where the surface and the sketch plane intersect.
Now just make that line that was created construction and set your sketched line coincident to it.
I fooled with it a little, and I can't get it either. I'd recommend deleting that sketch and starting a new 3d sketch. Sketch a rectangle, set On Plane relations between the lines and Plane5, then set the desired line On Plane with the Surface. 3d sketches are trickier to work with than 2d sketches, but I don't see any other way to do what you want. Someone else might.
By the way, I see you have several sketches that aren't fully defined. You may know this, but that's a dangerous practice. I'd recommend fully defining each one as you go.
Thanks for helping out. I don't believe I've ever used the Intersection Curve function. That's good to know.
Yeah I use it a lot when I have a sketch plane going through a hole and I want to reference the hole edges. With an intersection curve you can bring in the sides of the hole into your sketch.
