It used to work fine before i reinstalled my solidworks 2012. Now when I click on Render preview window i see 'Transferring model information to photoview 360' after sometime nothing happens. No window, nothing... Same is true with final render. Help!
You have my sympathies and I hope the boat isn't in the middle of no where! Meanwhile I am using Keyshot, someone would know how to fix it surely.
Nice to have a second option.

First - Try deleting the main photoview config file... This stores various settings for PV and might have some trash... This file is called PHOTOVIEW760.CFG (2014) or PHOTOVIEW660.CFG (2013). It lives in your application data folder for Luxology. That is a location like: "C:\Users\rbates\AppData\Roaming\Luxology"

that has always been my first solution, but lately we've had a few reports of bonjour being disabled by over zealous IT and that stopped it working. or just being corrupt, so reinstalling just bonjour may fix it also.

Unfortunately deleting the PV config file does not solve this problem... When I initiate preview or final render I still get "Transferring model information to Photoview" and the then the message goes away and no preview or render window. "Recall of last rendered image" also has the same effect.
Looks like I'm going to need to do a reinstall of SW - Arghhh....

Do you have modo installed on the same machine Mark? When modo crashes on me (which seems to happen often) PV360 fails to work as well. I either open modo and then close it correctly or check the TM and see if I have a modo process running and stop it. Then PV will work as expected.
May or may not be your issue?

No, this is on my work laptop and Modo is not installed. I still don't know what to do about this issue other than a full re-install of SW. I loathe to do that since we are on a network license and I don't control the process - our IT guy does (it kills me to not be master over my SW like when I was inside DS.)

Alan's reply is also quite relevant. There were cases I saw where a bad bonjour keeps PV from running. You may want to try that route before a full re-install of SW. You can install pretty much any apple product (quicktime or iTunes) or bonjour itself. Just google "bonjour for windows"

BTW - what does Apple's Bonjour have to do with PV360? Is that something that Lux accesses for Nexus rendering engine?
Ahh - that was it: Bonjour. I had uninstalled it thinking I did not need it. So I uninstalled iTunes and reinstalled it which in turn, reinstalled Bonjour. thank you Ron and Alan for saving me from an unproductive re-install of SW.

Sounds like your in the same boat with me, and I did a clean install to boot.
