Re: 2014 is a great release!
Jeff Holliday Nov 5, 2013 8:11 AM (in response to Greg Hynd)Thanks for sharing your "likes". I saw some very nice enhancements at the Launch event I attended. It appears to another year of no major advancements but a good number of improvements - I can accept that.

Greg Hynd Nov 5, 2013 8:17 AM (in response to Jeff Holliday)Yup. Nothing major but I am very pleased with the little titbits.
Heres a couple more.
1) You get a warning box pop up if you start a sketch in the context of the assembly, rather then in a part. I often start sketching away and when I come to extrude I realize and have to re do it, so this will save a lot of time.
2) History folder in your tree that remembers the 10 most recent features etc that have been used.

Yes many nice hangnails fixed asd this on is nice, done it myself a couple hundred time since 97, but learned along the way, just copy the sketch and paste it in the part, not alot of time spent resketching, just some added relations to lock back down.

Re: 2014 is a great release!
Greg Hynd Nov 5, 2013 8:25 AM (in response to Lenny Bucholz)Mostly I would just copy the sketch, but then sometimes the sketch would flip the wrong way when pasted. Now with the flip normal to on planes this would be sorted too!

Jim Wilkinson Nov 5, 2013 9:03 AM (in response to Greg Hynd)Hi Greg,
In case you and others were not aware, even before SolidWorks 2014's ability to flip planes, you have always been able to flip sketches with the Modify Sketch tool. See this help topic:
http://help.solidworks.com/2014/English/solidworks/sldworks/t_Moving_Sketches.htm
Thanks,
Jim-

Re: 2014 is a great release!
Serge Piastra Nov 7, 2013 10:33 PM (in response to Greg Hynd)Are we finally able to "stretch" the layer dialog box to make it bigger, or do we have to wait for release 2050 before this gets implemented?
